HISTORY

M.H. Consultants, Inc. is an organization that is over 25 years old and has, from its inception, remained at the forefront of Workplace Behavior and Employer/Member Assistance Programs.

MHC's program was conceived by vision, at a time when Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs) were not popular. Its founder and President had the foresight to see, that in order to impact on productivity in the workplace, drug & alcohol problems had to be addressed directly. Board members from various employer groups within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania commissioned MHC to formulate a "state of the art" behavioral care management system. Within this system a troubled employee, member and/or insured is provided with guidance through a sometimes difficult process of accessing appropriate treatment. MHC, through the use of a computerized tracking system, enables a person to move through different levels of care with relative ease. A seamless delivery system, through the use of MHC's provider network, coordinates with all interested parties so that quality assured treatment and cost containment issues are considered. In this model an individual is tracked from the moment they seek treatment throughout and up to 18 months post-discharge. Satisfaction surveys of clients are conducted by MHC allowing ongoing monitoring of the treatment providers and services to be achieved. An easily accessible Provider network, which is contracted and managed by MHC is credentialed and certified on an ongoing basis.

Since 1980, MHC has been a leader in providing quality managed behavioral healthcare services. In this time, MHC has established itself as a cost-effective alternative to the traditional behavioral health plan. MHC believes that high quality behavioral health treatment and cost containment strategies are compatible. Its philosophy is that through a cooperative or "consortium-like" atmosphere a low cost quality assured program can be offered.
